A Life Redeemed

I was born on a warm, sunny day in the month of March at De Ocampo Hospital, Quezon City. I am now 26 years old. I live in Pasig City and I go to school at De Los Santos College of Health Professions. When I was born, my godmother who happens to be one of my mom’s closest friends, was there at the hospital and she was the one who gave me my first name. I am the firstborn daughter of Jeremias del Rosario, a dentist by profession and Aurora del Rosario, a businesswoman. I have two younger sisters and one younger brother. I am now married to Dan Mark Antonio and we have a son named Gerard Denvy Antonio.

Who I am in life.

My name is Givenchi del Rosario Antonio. I started school when I was five years old. I went to kindergarten through sixth grade at Philippine College of Technological Resources in Valenzuela City and while I was there, I received numerous honors and awards. I also won awards for quiz bee competitions. Then I attended Christian Montessori Incorporated and Light of Life Christian School, and there I also received different awards. I am now a Second Year Nursing student at DLS-STI. I stopped school for quite a long time because I had to work for my family but I am hoping to finish school and be able to work abroad.

What life means to me.

Life to me means living for the glory of God and consistently loving my family and friends. I am pretty much on the happy side of life, I try to have a positive outlook and focus on the things that matter most. Yes, I do have some sad days or depressed days. But I know I have the Lord, my family and friends to stay with me and make me feel everything’s going to be alright. I know I’ll always have someone to talk to. I am not perfect. I have done a lot of mistakes in the past but I know I am forgiven because the Bible says that if we confess our sins to God, He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I know my life had been redeemed from the power of sin and God’s love and forgiveness rule within me.

What’s my outlook on the future.

Five to ten years from now, I think I will probably be living in the states near my family of origin. I will be comfortable with my living situation, meaning that I will be financially stable and I will be living in my own house. I plan to have one more child. I also would want to put up a restaurant with my husband, we will make it grow and make it our primary source of income. I want to continue serving God by living a life that would make a difference. It is my heart’s desire that people see His love through me.

Out of Town Trips

If given the time and resources, there's no doubt that our family would have at least three out of town trips every year. We would love to explore different places and have unforgettable nature encounters. We will definitely enjoy having a hearty meal with breathtaking ocean and mountain views surrounding us. We would want to try outdoor activities to get some adventure. Mountain trekking, island hopping, snorkeling, scuba diving are some of the activities we want to do as a family. Over the past years, we only had few out of town trips and I'm glad I was able to gather our pictures so here they are!

September 23 - October 1, 2006. We celebrated Gerard's 8th Birthday in Boso-Boso Resort and Convention Center in Antipolo. It only took us about 30-40 minutes to get to the place. We didn't want to go any place farther than Antipolo because the hubby had made prior commitments so we need to be back home early the following day. We dropped by the Cogeo Market to buy food and that's where we bought Gerard's birthday cake too. We were with our house helper, Karen and the hubby's two younger siblings, Shale and Martin.

June 2-3, 2006. We went to All Hands Beach in Subic, Zambales. We stayed there overnight together with our friends from church. It was a fun trip and Gerard enjoyed a lot because as far as I can remember, that was his first time to swim in the beach. Digi and Gerard enjoyed playing with each other under the sun. They ran around, collected some seashells and ate grilled pork for lunch. I enjoyed the picture taking sessions we had! You can view all our pictures in my multiply account.

February 2008. I forgot the exact date but this was taken in Iba, Zambales. Digi and Gerard went there to attend the Transformer Youth Camp and they went out of the camp site with the staff and camp organizers to swim in the beach. I super like this shot. I wasn't able to go with them because of school but I also got the chance to go there first week of April.

May 2007. Club Morocco Beach Resort and Country Club. It's a very beautiful place! Very nice ocean and mountain views, elegant swimming pool, relaxing landscape, modern and convenient rooms for the guests. We went there with the Botbydblud Barkada. The resort food is quite expensive so we brought our own food and we all had a great time! I hope to go back there soon.

December 30, 2008. ABC's Year Planning and Outing at Villa Concepcion Wet and Wild Waves, Inc. The resort is in Pandi, Bulacan. We went there with the church leaders. The hubby and I took tons of pictures of ourselves because we didn't want to swim. We enjoyed the food and the company of our churchmates.

November 1, 2004. This is just one of the many EK (Enchanted Kingdom) trips we had. We're riding the Wheel of Fate and I was giving a fake smile in this picture because I'm acrophobic and I resent the hubby's habit of scaring me when we're on top. We went to Enchanted Kingdom so many times and the experience it gives us never fails to make us happy everytime.

What Kind of Fashionable Woman Are You?

Your Fashion Style is Sporty

You're a natural beauty who doesn't need fancy clothes to look good. You prefer your clothes to be comfortable, so you can stay on the go. For you, femininity is not how you wear - but how you wear it. Still, don't be afraid to show off that great body in a dress or skirt!

Wishing Everyone A Prosperous 2009!

This message comes to wish you all happiness and every good thing too! May this year mark the beginning of a year of blessing, pleasure and discovery
for everybody. May each day hold something special, that is wonderful and
new.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Our New Little Darling

Several years ago, our family had two dogs when we were still residing in Valenzuela City. One was Beauty, a very sweet and charming Golden Retriever and the other one was Danica, a very energetic German Shepherd. Unfortunately, they are both gone now. I have been emotionally attached to those pet dogs so it was quite hard for me to let go and I cried a lot when they died. I love them so much!

Anyway, this post is about Hamsty. That's the name we gave to this cute little hamster that my son bought almost a week ago. The hubby and I were out of town when our son bought Hamsty so when I arrived home and saw this tiny creature, I admit, I was very skeptical. We only have a limited space here at home so for me, having pets is not at all a bright idea. Besides that, I personally do not know anything about hamsters. So, I am making a sort of research about how to care for our pet hamster.

According to what I've researched on wikipedia, Hamsty is a type of Roborovski hamster. Roborovskis (Phodopus roborovskii) are the smallest of all hamsters commonly kept as pets. Distinguishing characteristics of the Roborovskis are the white spots where the eyebrows would be, and the lack of the dorsal stripe seen in all other dwarf hamsters. They live, on average, to three and a half years of age - the longest of any domestic hamster.

Hamsters are omnivorous. Their diet consists mostly of grains (such as whole grain oats and corn) but also includes fresh fruit, roots such as carrots, green parts of plants. Hamsters carry food in their spacious cheek pouches to a cache in the burrow. We tried feeding Hamsty with taco shells last night. In the picture above, you can see how Hamsty excitedly grabs the taco shell from Digi's hand.

Hamsty is so adorable so I am now convinced that we should keep her as our new house pet. She is alert, curious, and active. She likes to play and eat then sleep afterwards. She also likes to interact especially during the evening when she's active. As I type this entry, my son and his uncle Martin arrived home with another hamster so Hamsty is not alone anymore. She now has a playmate, Hefty! I'll post a picture of Hamsty and Hefty together soon!
